Here is a photo by William E. Grant that was taken at the Passenger Station in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on 11 October 1936. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3670, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1918 and retired in August of 1955 after 37 years of faithful service. Caption On Reverse: "Off the Beaten Track" ~ meaning, it's a Sunday railway excursion into Lehigh Valley Railroad territory. Gary Mittner Collection. |
