Nearly-new New Orleans Public Belt boxcars were on an Illinois Central Gulf train in Kenner, Louisiana. Car 3424 had been built in April 1978, while the 3301 had been built September 1977. Both were 5144 cubic foot cars by Pullman-Standard, and they were two of 1,299 incentive per diem boxcars leased by the NOPB beginning in 1978. (approximate date of photo) |
