This car was built by Budd in June 1949 as New York Central 5-double-bedroom / buffet / lounge / observation car BONNIE BROOK. It was one of four such cars built for use on the NEW ENGLAND STATES and the OHIO STATE LIMITED. NYC added the number 10561 in 1952 and this was changed to 10670 in July 1958. It was retired in March 1964 and has gone through several owners including Jim Jones who named it the EDNA 1, then to J. Fred Corriher as JFC 100 CRESCENT QUEEN, and then to the NRHS-New Orleans Chapter who restored its original name. Here it was as JFC 100 at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal, with NOUPT SW8 number 1 down the track and Amtrak 9401 STARLIGHT DOME over on the PANAMA LIMITED. |
