This classic scene of four pin-striped GG-1 locomotives occurred in June 1954. Photo: Edward L. Conklin III Collection." Shown here are four Pennsylvania Railroad GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric locomotives, all rated at 4,620 horsepower. Second from the left ~ painted tuscan red and producing all of that steam ~ is #4909, built in Juniata during December of 1941. Unfortunately, the road numbers of the other three GG-1's are not recorded. |
