IAIS Double-headed QJ steam!!!!   Contributor's Pick!
A special double-headed steam excursion on the Iowa Interstate crosses the Mississippi River southbound on September 15, 2006. It is arriving in Rock Island, Illinois. These two 2-10-2 steam engines, #6988 and #7081, came from the Ji-Tong Railroad in China. They were built in China from 1985 to 1986. Iowa Interstate acquired both of them in June 2006. Trips with these locomotives were arranged for "RiverWay 2006." This is a four day celebration honoring 150 years of the first railroad bridge crossing the Mississippi River nearby.
