A wide angle view of the bridge shows both ends, the supports now bereft of deck and track. The line ultimately became part of the MKT, and was abandoned in the mid 1970s, after a long period of decline. At the end, with 10 MPH limits on its entire length, it could take a week for the local freight to make the trip through the grass to the Rock Island in Hooker, or the Santa Fe at Keyes. |
