PM 2-8-4 #1237 - Pere Marquette
Title:  PM 2-8-4 #1237 - Pere Marquette
Description:  Once a mighty loco serving first the Pere Marquette and later after the 1947 merger, the Chesapeake & Ohio, it was photographed waiting its fate after being written off the C&O roster in January of 1958. It finally met the scrapper's torch in 1961. Built by Lima in April of 1944 as PM #1237 (serial #8459, class N-2), it was never renumbered after joining the C&O roster in 1947. .Final specs - 70" drivers, impressive 245 psi boiler pressure, 26x34" cylinders, engine weight of 456,100 lb, tractive effort of 69,350 lb with booster adding 14,400 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Title:  PM 2-8-4 # 1238 - Pere Marquette
Description:  Built by Lima in April of 1944 as Pere Marquette 2-8-4 Berkshire #1238 (serial #8460, class N-2). this might loco served the Pere Marquette well in both passenger and freight service. In 1947 when the PM was finally merged into the C&O roster, it was never renumbered. In January of 1958, it was written off the C&O roster and sat in the former Pere Marquette New Buffalo, MI, yard until being scrapped in 1961. Final specs - 70" drivers, impressive 245 psi boiler pressure, 26x34" cylinders, engine weight of 456,100 lb, tractive effort of 69,350 lb with booster adding 14,400 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Built by Lima in April of 1944 as PM #1239 (serial #8461, class N-2), the loco served the PM Railway and then the C&O (never renumbered) until being written off the C&O roster in January of 1958 and scrapped in 1961. Final specs - 70" drivers (upgraded from 69" in 1947 by PM shops), impressive 245 psi boiler pressure, 26x34" cylinders, engine weight of 456,100 lb, tractive effort of 69,350 lb with booster adding 14,400 lb.
