Description:  On display in an outdoor setting at the Virginia Transportation Museum was Wabash E8A #1009.1009 pulled such notable trains as the Wabash Cannonball, City of St. Louis, City of Kansas City, as well as other Wabash passenger trains. The loco was retired from service in June 1967 and was then donated to the Museum. An unidentified rail fan took the photo as it sat.

Description:  Great "face" of an EMD E8A loco that served the Wabash for only 16 years before being retired and donated to the Virginia Transportation Museum. In late 2012, this locomotive was Paid Advertisement Click on the ad for more information. Please report objectionable advertising to the Editor. sent to the Norfolk Southern Shops in Roanoke for a cosmetic overhaul and then to Chattanooga, Tennessee, for painting. It returned to the museum in early 2014. An unidentified rail fan took this photo as it sat out in the open on display at the Virginia Transportation Museum.
